When your Uncle and I put away all the Christmas decorations, I will go look. If not, it is still probably at Grandpa's, and I will then ask him.
Love your Aunt KittenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6332557059549813243.post-68277529671811851522009-12-21T12:14:33.738-08:002009-12-21T12:14:33.738-08:00Well Elinor, I LOVE it! (It was terrible reading about how the skirt was torn. :-( ) I think I am going to keep my eye out for a pattern similar to it... :-) :-) :-)
~"Elinor"Elinor Dashwood/Melaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01233456173816940821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6332557059549813243.post-44479542429318215282009-12-20T20:06:31.655-08:002009-12-20T20:06:31.655-08:00Oh how beautiful!! My grandma was also married in the 50's and I LOVE her wedding gown from then. . .so plain in style yet made up beautifully in a good fit and scrumptious fabrics.

What is funny is that I came across a dress almost exactly like how your Grandma's looks at a thrift shop a few years ago. Except the one I found was full length. It had a plain white satin underdress with the lace bodice and skirt overlay...soooo pretty! I wanted to save it for my own wedding (at the time I didn't even have a young man in my life) but sadly I cut it up to alter it to use as a Civil War ballgown, and at the ball I wore it to someone stepped on the old lace and tore a dreadful rent in the skirt. :(Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06713535191616985475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6332557059549813243.post-17220280952334248042009-12-19T17:17:28.798-08:002009-12-19T17:17:28.798-08:00You and the 50s. :P ;)You and the 50s. :P ;)Marianne Dashwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00489428442031392035noreply@blogger.com
