Molly Gibson Romantic Era Dress

After some alterations, seam ripping, resewing, and finger-crossing, I have now completed my Romantic era dress!

Overall it was such a pleasure to make and I am very happy with it. Thank you all for your encouragement while I worked on it.

It's beautiful, Melanie! But what did you mean by "make a toile"?
A toile is basically a first try on a dress; you make it up with muslin or other cheap material, to check to see what might need altered before you cut into the main fabric that you want to use. That way, you don't waste good fabric and turn out with a flop. :-)
