Please Pray...

...as I am about to embark upon sewing 13 (I think) buttonholes and buttons to Paige's blouse.
This is one that I am selling so I want it to be worth selling, so please pray that the buttonholer and machine will work and that it will turn out looking nice! :-)

Most of all, pray that I would have a spirit of patience and that I would not get frustrated as I sew. I find that sewing often brings out the attitudes in my heart, and I want those to be Christlike attitudes and not selfish, earthly attitudes.

(Anyone else out there scared of buttonholes?)

I am not scared anymore, but mine never do turn out quite right. But now I know how to do them by hand and I think I trust myself to do them by hand now instead of on the machine. The machine has a mind of its own sometimes, where my hands can be controled better! Praying for you!
Nope. Not scared. ;) I did twelve of them on my Beatrix project and then two on an apron...so I think I'm broken in. ;) lol

Hugs!

I absolutely detest making buttonholes on the machine, so I will definitely be praying for you, I know how it feels!

I refuse to make machine buttonholes and actually don't even know how to do machine buttonholes on my current machine. I do them all by hand now and it takes about 4-6 minutes per buttonhole. Not that much longer, time-wise, and I do have a lot more control that way.

I hope yours come out well! I'm sure they will. Things ALWAYS come out better when they are prayed about first! :)
Well, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one scared of buttonholes. ;-) However, they went great on my machine-- only one of them threatened to be annoying but it turned out okay. I will have to post pictures when I am totally done with the blouse. (You are right, Sarah, things do come out better when one prays about them first! :-) )

I discovered that the buttons I was planning on using were too off-color so tomorrow we are going to JoAnn's and I am going to get some white ones (that are the right size). Meanwhile, I have been having lots of fun with another project but I sha'n't tell you now... ;-) I'll make you wait... ;-)

I wasn't scared of buttonholes at first....but some of the last ones I tried didn't come out right. Is it really hard to do them by hand?
Alaina,
It's not too hard to do buttonholes by hand, though when I do them they don't turn out looking as nice. ;-)
