Below is a picture of my grandma and grandpa at their wedding in 1957. Isn't my grandma's dress lovely? (This is the same grandma that I talked about in
this post.)
I am not sure whether we have this dress anywhere, but I would love to make one like it for my wedding, if the Lord ever brings such an event about in my life. ;-) I just adore the styles from that decade!! :-D

What is funny is that I came across a dress almost exactly like how your Grandma's looks at a thrift shop a few years ago. Except the one I found was full length. It had a plain white satin underdress with the lace bodice and skirt overlay...soooo pretty! I wanted to save it for my own wedding (at the time I didn't even have a young man in my life) but sadly I cut it up to alter it to use as a Civil War ballgown, and at the ball I wore it to someone stepped on the old lace and tore a dreadful rent in the skirt. :(
That is so neat that you found a dress almost just like my grandma's! (It was terrible reading about how the skirt was torn. :-( ) I think I am going to keep my eye out for a pattern similar to it... :-) :-) :-)

I believe one of your aunts may have the dress.... S.A.S. would have it. At least I think.... You could write and ask either the oldest or the next to the oldest.
Love your Aunt Kitten
Hope you and Uncle Everett are doing well! :-)
Love, your niece,

Have you ever seen the old 50's TV series "I Love Lucy"? It's kind of nutty but the dresses - oh the dresses!! Their sooo beautiful!! :D
