Emma's Orange-Flowered Dress

This may be one of my favorite of Emma's dresses. The only thing that bugs me about it is that it seems too toned-down for a wedding. :-P

I am not sure how to make a dress like this; I'm really not sure at all about that front gathering detail. Please feel free to share ideas!! :-D

I am planning to make this dress sometime this summer! I loved it in the movie!

To add the front gathers to the S&S pattern you would cut the bodice front piece off the fold at an angle. The bottom of the piece would be touching the fold (where it's supposed to be) and the top would be a couple of inches away from the fold (further onto the fabric). I'll take pictures when I make it!

I was looking for a picture of all the Wives and Daughters hairstyles and found your blog. I had to comment here because I have a dream of getting this dress made for my daughter's 16th birthday (2 years away!). I am no seamstress, sadly. I would also love to see pictures and figure out a way to get this dress made.
Lovely blog - be blessed!
