The shawl piece on this dress reminds me of this pattern. Obviously, it would neat a lot of altering to make a dress just like this one.

I agree with you about this dress looking a lot like the pattern you linked. All that would really need to be done is the collar of the pelerine would need to be done away with and the front would have to be cut wider. The white lace poking out around the front opening is likely a chemisette rather than a part of the dress itself. The pelerine was probably constructed separately from the dress so that it could be worn with or without. The sleeves in the linked pattern look a little large, but again, that's pretty easy to fix. Just find yourself a good black silk taffeta (fashionfabricsclub.com) and you'll be set!
