Emma's White Dress

Emma wears this dress towards the beginning. Here she is supposed to be about 14 years old and trying to match up her sister and Mr. Knightly's brother.

It seems to be a white-on-white print, and it has a green-and-yellow [ugly] plaid sash.

It looks like the back fastens with hooks and eyes.
The skirt has two tucks at the hem.

This dress can probably be reproduced using Sense and Sensibility's Regency gown pattern, with some alterations (such as darting the front instead of gathering it. Here are some directions on how to do that.)

It looks to me as is the print is slightly raised. Sort of woven into the material instead of printed on top of it. That kind of fabric has a name I just can't recall it!
Good observation, Caroline! It does look more like it's woven in instead of printed on it, doesn't it?
